Founding member and director of the Health Physics Society. ==Life's Work and Education== Edgar Charles Barnes was the son of Claude Barnes and Clara Gamble. On 19 August 1931, Edgar Charles Barnes married Eleanor Frances Sykes. They had a son, Robert Charles and daughter, Eleanor Elizabeth. They resided at 316 Ninth Street in Edgewood, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Barnes graduated in 1930 from Pennsylvania State University with a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering.
